Casa Lapostolle Chardonnay Chile Valparaíso Casablanca Chardonnay 2009
Wine Tasting Notes Clean and bright yellow with lime hints. Expressive and clean notes of the Casablanca Origin. Aromas of tropical fruit: papaya, mango, licci and also apricots. Notes of citrus like mandarin and lime. Very pleasant, fresh acidity in an appealing balance with subtle sweet spices of the oak finishing towards a long and lasting round palate.
Lapostolle was founded by the legendary family behind Grand Marnier. Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle brought French winemaking practices to Chile, where she was a pioneer in leading the development of fine quality wines. The winery uses organic and biodynamic practices, and the wines are consistently rated 90+ points. Most recently, Wine Enthusiast named Lapostolle “New World Winery of the Year” in 2008.

Ripe pear, apple and toast flavors, with a faint earthy note on the medium-weight finish. Drink now.
Juicy, with modest toast that guides the melon and yellow apple fruit flavors through the nicely rounded finish. Drink now.
The 1999 Chardonnay has a lovely white fruit and mineral-scented nose. On the palate, it is oily-textured, filled with pears, apples, hints of tangerines, and stones. This excellent value is a well-balanced, seamless wine that would embarrass Chardonnays from California at twice its price. Drink it over the next two years.
A touch creamy and fat on the bouquet, but backed by peach and tangerine flavors that sing of ripeness. Finishes scouring and tangy, but incredibly fresh.
This round, fresh and stylish Chardonnay from the Casablanca Valley is a step up from the middling 2000 version. The bouquet yields ample pear, almond and coconut aromas, while the palate is loaded with pear fruit and a hint of oak-driven smoke. Classy and concise, and better made than almost every other similarly priced Chardonnay.
Textbook Chardonnay; ripe flavors of pear and fig with star fruit, piecrust and fine minerality underneath as well. Delicious. Terrific value. Drink now.
This Chilean Chard is aged in French oak and grown and made by Frenchman Michel Rolland, giving this New World wine Old World style. Great balance, fruit, and complexity - and, being from Chile, affordable.
