Lapostolle was founded by the legendary family behind Grand Marnier. Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle brought French winemaking practices to Chile, where she was a pioneer in leading the development of fine quality wines. The winery uses organic and biodynamic practices, and the wines are consistently rated 90+ points. Most recently, Wine Enthusiast named Lapostolle “New World Winery of the Year” in 2008.

Color: Bright light yellow. Nose: Fresh and clean, sweet citrus aromas such as tangerine and pears with sweet flowers. Palate: Fresh and elegant with nice texture and good acidity. Long finish. Service and Food Pairing: Serve cold at 10/12 °C (50/53 °C). The ideal companion for appetizers and seafood in general. -The Winery

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast Estate bottled single vineyard Cabernet from Wine Enthusiast Magazine's 2008 New World Winery of the Year. The Apalta Vineyard is the gem of the estate in Chile's Colchagua Valley, with deeply rooted grapevines up to 60 years old. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot slowly macerated over four weeks then aged 14 months in French oak barrels, 75% new. An Editor's Choice, WE scored it 91 points saying "As always, this wine exhibits power and intensity, with leather, earth and beefy dark fruit making for an alluring bouquet. Round and ripe in the mouth, with big-time cherry and chocolate accents. A wine with true star power, and the lasting notes of smoke and charcoal are the real deal."

The winery is 100% gravity-fed spanning six levels. This rare vertical design allows the wine to flow naturally downward during every stage of the production, avoiding the need to pump, which can adversely affect the subtle flavours of the wine.

Chunky Cab, with dark raspberry and blackberry fruit pushed by firm cocoa and toast notes. More dark, bacony toast on the finish. Solid, if a bit square in the end.

Dense and solid, this is top-flight Chilean Merlot without any hints of green to drag it down. The nose deals polished oak and bright berry aromas; the palate offers a peerfect feel and impressive plum,berry,chocolate and vanilla flavors. Properly tannic and balanced.

Color: Bright yellow with subtle lime notes. Nose: Tropical fruit in the nose such as mango, papaya and sweet dry fruit aromas on the back. Palate: Very round and elegant mouths feel, with good volume and acidity, followed by a long finish. Service and Food Pairing: Serve at 12°C (53°F). Ideal companion for seafood, white meats or fish such as salmon and tuna. - Winery Vinification: As a general winemaking philosophy, in our Cuvée Alexandre Chardonnay we look for elegance, balance and ageing potential. In 2012, we did 75% of whole cluster pressing and 25% of maceration into the press before fermenting. 83% was fermented in French barrels and 17% in stainless steel tanks. Our Cuvée Alexandre Chardonnay was 100% aged in French oak barrels for 11 months (76% in new French oak barrels and 24% second use barrels). The result is a well-integrated oak with elegant structure to enhance the natural acidity and freshness of this grape. No malolactic fermentation was pursued.
