The candied grapefruit-scented 2003 Chardonnay is a pleasing, thirst-quenching wine. Its slightly tart flavors of apples and grapefruits also display a note of spiciness. This light to medium-bodied wine should be drunk over the next year.

A touch creamy and fat on the bouquet, but backed by peach and tangerine flavors that sing of ripeness. Finishes scouring and tangy, but incredibly fresh.

Plump, with medium-weight pear, apple and toast flavors and a nice round finish. Drink now.

This round, fresh and stylish Chardonnay from the Casablanca Valley is a step up from the middling 2000 version. The bouquet yields ample pear, almond and coconut aromas, while the palate is loaded with pear fruit and a hint of oak-driven smoke. Classy and concise, and better made than almost every other similarly priced Chardonnay.
