Fifty percent of the 2007 GR-174 was aged for 9 months in French oak. The wine is a blend of 35% Garnacha, 30% Carinena, and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark ruby-colored, it displays a pleasing perfume of mineral, violets, and black cherry compote. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has ample sweet fruit, savory flavors, good depth, and a medium-long finish. Drink this excellent introduction to the Priorat DO over the next 3ndash;4 years.

(a blend of 35% each of garnatxa and cabernet sauvignon and 30% carinyena) Inky violet. Ripe black raspberry and cherry aromas are complemented by subtle vanilla and cola qualities. Lush and creamy in texture initially but becomes firmer with air, offering sweet red fruit flavors and a late note of licorice. This wine nicely plays sweet fruit off spice and finishes with good cut and a faint hint of menthol.
