Casa Ferreirinha Red Blend Douro Vinha Grande 2006

Member Review by BTKerne:

This was an interesting wine. I found it unmemorable the first time I had it, but this time I found it much more enjoyable. Notes of violet, blackberries, and well integrated oak on the nose. Really like how the oak was used on this one. Very subtle. Big ripe blackberries along with some strawberries are predominant on the palate with chalky but fleshy tannins that give a smooth and broad mouthfeel to the wine. Well balanced acidity.
