Add your reviewThis was an interesting wine. I found it unmemorable the first time I had it, but this time I found it much more enjoyable. Notes of violet, blackberries, and well integrated oak on the nose. Really like how the oak was used on this one. Very subtle. Big ripe blackberries along with some strawberries are predominant on the palate with chalky but fleshy tannins that give a smooth and broad mouthfeel to the wine. Well balanced acidity.
Tasting Notes:
Vinha Grande 2002 shows an appealing red ruby colour. Its aroma is dominated by floral (violet) and ripe red fruits notes, and reflects the complexity of both maturation and evolution in the bottle. On the palate is a balanced and full-bodied wine with well structured tannins smoothened by the fruit which enhances a rich and persistent finish.
