Carmenere is a lesser known grape, but its very closely related to merlot - in fact there's much confusion in the industry over this. The wine has decent fruit (black cherries), some coffee notes, and herbs. The tannins are well integrated and the finish is ok. Good for the price.

A superb example of one of Chile's most promising red grapes.

Deep cherry red color. Complex nose of black cherries, berries, and herbs with a hint of coffee. Good structure and body with spicy vanilla, berry notes and great soft tannins. A very drinkable balance of fruit and oak that can accompany beef, lamb, roasts and cheeses.
