Casa Do Capitão-Mor 2007
Almost clear wine with a nose that at first is almost transparent, though with time begins to show some flesh fruit and "albarino" like fruit. In the mouth the acidity is fresh and alive with apple hints and peach notes. The acidity is wonderful, and rounds out with some hints of lemon. Really want to say more about this wine, but I have a strange feeling that this an example of a VV that could age and improve for a couple of years. Very fresh and full of life/body.
If a wine could actually be white, or transparent, this is it, making it strangely attractive solely for its clarity. The bouquet is really creamy and lemony with almost a raw almost almond and mineral touch near the end. Nice gentle acidity that coats my entire palate, leaving a slightly dense creamy apple finish from its time in barrel. I'd be curious how the flavors express themselves in a few years time as they're slightly reserved at the moment. Fun wine!
