What to Expect

Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Editorial Reviews

Faint and faded on the nose with a minty edge to the beefy nose. The palate is dusty with a touch of bouillon balanced by some redwood tinged black currant jam notes. the tannins are still in evidence but they are surprisingly polished and give the wine a slightly chewy feel.

The nose cleans up as it airs gaining cola and cinnamon tones and the fruit continues to freshen with a nice core of sweet plum and red cherry fruit coming into focus. This never really gains much complexity but it does gain freshness and length and is a wonderful surprise.

I can't wait to try this again! 91pts

Write your review here, and rate the wine from 1 to 5 glasses above.Tonight we had a bottle that lacked the depth of the better bottles that I've had of this wine with a nose that showed fraying at the seams but still offered up a bit of poopy beet root, black pepper, and deep smoky tones with lots of cigar box and tobacco. In the mouth the acid drew this out and highlighted the small core of slightly chunky fruit with some slightly gritty tannins giving a bit of structure to the wine. It's fading in the glass but remains a treat to try and completely drinkable. 86pts.
