Casa de la Ermita Mourvedre Blend Jumilla Crianza 2009

Member Review by NewWorld93:

Oak, violet, and chocolate on the nose, medium to full bodied, the cocoa continues on the palate with a touch of raspberry and a nice tannic finish.

Casa de la Ermita:
Based in Jumilla, Spain this winery seperates itself from most Spanish wineries by its use of the Petit Verdot grape, which is used in more than half of their wines. Eclectic yet old world.

I am really enjoying this wine. I saw this wine in the Wines from Spain Far From Ordinary Wine Guide. It says that this one is a blend of 40% Monatrell, 25% Tempranillo (which I love), 20% Cabernet Saivignon (my love), and 15% Petit Verdot. The tasting notes are right on point with my experience, as well. At first taste this wine is quite dry. But it has a nice finish. It went well with a very very rich chocolate truffle I had with it. I would love to try this one out with a nice meal.

Lush fruit without being too jammy, has some oak and tannins. Served at Holiday party and it was well received by wine lovers of all types.

Kraftvoll, fleischig, voll, tiefe Eleganz.
