"Despite the enormous influence of California's wineries, too few specialize in premium wines at value prices. One that does is Cartlidge and Browne. This is a smooth, silky Pinot Noir with flavors of plum, berry, Asian spice and anise. This pairs well with grilled lamb or salmon.
The medium garnet-hued 2008 Pinot Noir offers smoky herb, red currant, and pomegranate notes in an evolved style. It represents a decent value. These noteworthy values are consistently well-made wines meant for uncritical drinking during their first 1ndash;2 years of life.
