Cartlidge & Browne Pinot Noir California 2007
Tasting Notes :Medium-full garnet in color, the wine leaps from the glass with loads of baked chery/berry fruit character, along with anise, spice cake, and the 'beety' notes so appreciated in Pinot Noir. Showing lots of vigor and sweet juicy fruit on the palate, the wine's muscle is matched by a supple texture and velvety tannins that give it great accessibility. Enjoy it with grilled meats and poultry, salmon and light pastas.
"Despite the enormous influence of California's wineries, too few specialize in premium wines at value prices. One that does is Cartlidge and Browne. Avoiding extra oak and other types of manipulation used by some vintners, Cartlidge & Browne produces fruity, pure, and vibrant wines that reflect varietals' personalities.

Wine Tasting NotesThe aromatics of the 2007 Pinot Noir are keynoted by the rich baked cherry fruit and suggestions of baking spices and anise which are often typical of Monterey County Pinot. We have added juicy and accessible components from San Luis Obispo and Solano Counties to fill out the more classic and structured lots from Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. The composite blend offers good depth of flavor and lots of true Pinot Noir character, with sweet toast and red fruits, as well as touches of anise and cola.
