A rich ruby/garnet in color, the wine’s aromas combine ripe, juicy fruit notes of cassis and blueberry with classic mocha, sweet tobacco, and cedar spice. Particularly impressive in its lush, dense mouth feel, it offers full-throttle, jammy black fruit brought into focus by a dollop of spicy, smoky oak. The wine can be enjoyed with virtually any grilled or roasted meat, but pairs especially well with fine cuts of beef or loin lamb chops. It is also delicious with feathered game, or with hearty poultry dishes such as coq au vin.

The 2005 Cabernet Sauvingon exhibits black current, dried herb, earth, and spice characteristics. It is a fruit-driven, medium-bodied, soft wine to consume over the next 2-3 years. These are all excellent values! One of the premium purveyors of value-priced California wines (believe me, there are not many that offer high quality at low prices), Cartlidge & Browne continues to provide rewarding and surprisingly tasty drinking.
The juicy, deep ruby-tinged 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals classic aromas of black fruits intermixed with hints of underbrush and herb. Fine ripeness, low acidity, and medium body suggest it should be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.
The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a darker color in addition to more structure and herb characteristics. This up-front, pleasant, fruit-driven effort should drink well for 3-4 years.
A richly textured, smooth wine, it has typical flavors of blackberry, cassis, cedar and tea. Serve it with roast beef, venison stew or aged cheddar.
Another soft fruit bomb is the 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon. With copious quantities of black currant fruit, low acidity, and a lovely texture, and no wood in evidence, this tasty, ripe, cassis-filled effort can be enjoyed over the 3-4 years.
A well-made wine at a reasonable price, with typical flavors and aromas wrapped in a smooth and gracious package that provides great enjoyment.
A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Merlot, this wine offers generous aromas and rich flavors of blackcurrant, plum and mocha with overtones of toasty oak and allspice. Delicious.
