A deep garnet in color, the Cartlidge and Browne Cabernet gives an immediate impression of ripeness and density with its rich aromas of cassis, plum, fig, and black cherry, buttressed by inviting notes of cocoa, cedar, vanilla oak spice and sweet tobacco. Its expansive mouth feel and generous texture highlight dramatic flavors of roasted black fruits, espresso, anise, and toffee.


Winemaker's Notes:

Our 2010 Cabernet was pulled from the best parts of Lake County, Alexander Valley, and Northern Napa Valley. The blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec, and 5% Merlot. The wine was aged in French oak for 16 months, which has allowed for it to have a beautiful Cardinal Red color. The nose is rich with cassis, brambleberry, toasted vanilla short bread, and huckleberry. Bold body with a weighty mid-pallet. The tannin structure is soft yet fine that carries for a lingering finish. As always, this Cartlidge & Browne Cabernet Sauvignon pairs perfectly with food. We suggest a Blue Cheese Burger, Short Ribs, or a nice New York Steak.Winery Website
