In the words of South Park, this is full of Mintberry Crunch. As in spearmint and blueberries. Some serious franco-burnt rubber on the nose that decants into lovely smoothness after about an hour. great with meatballs. I eat a lot of meatballs.

Very solid, with dark, winey currant and fig sauce notes laced with shaved vanilla, cedar and coffee notes. Very Cabernet-like through the finish, with coffee and sweet, dark olive notes lingering on fine-grained but noticeable tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Best from 2009 through 2013. 2,500 cases imported. -JM What a pretty blend of Cabernet and Malbec is Caro, a joint venture between Nicolas Catena and the Lafite-Rothschild enterprise. This wine is wonderfully oaked and smooth, with mocha and fine berry aromas sending a positive message of what's to come. The palate is intense but friendly, with cassis, blackberry and vanilla flavors. Fine grip and good acidity ensure its place among Argentina's upper echelon of wines. - M.S. Deep ruby-red. Plum, spicecake and mint on the nose, with a strong element of chocolatey oak. Broad, plush and sweet, with very good depth but not quite the same energy as the 2007 Amancaya. Conveys a slightly disjointed blend of very ripe notes and cooler mint and menthol qualities but came into better harmony with extended aeration. Finishes with fairly tough tannins. I preferred the 2004 version of this flagship bottling for its structure and balance.
