An awesome nose with deep cassis fruit touched with roasted green chile, tobacco, oak and a still a whiff of vanilla. Big and powerful in the mouth with small dark berried fruit and layers of spice tones. that carry a bit of heat with them giving them a bit of a peppery edge. This remains a big wine and in some ways recalls 1986 Bordeaux. 91pts
