Food Pairings for Carmenet Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast Dynamite
Inky dark in the glass--pretty much opaque. Smoky, oaky nose. Very nice on the tip of the tongue--slight hints of berry fruit, but also quite mellow. Initial sensation is very refreshing for a cab. Now I'm getting a bit of a cherry thing. Still lots of tannin on the back of the palate. Finish reprises the cherry sensation briefly, but then goes back to the tannin thing. This is a darned good wine. We are having grilled tri-tip steaks in a little bit, and I think this wine will do well. US$11.99 at Wine Club in 1999. I'm thinking this was one hell of a bargain.
