Carmen Shiraz Reserve(2002)

An attractive deep bright raspberry colour followed by a beautiful wine that opens with lovely violets, jammy cherry fruit, mocha and spicy aromas. The fruit on the palate has a tremendous persistence, a rich base of juicy black plums and wild black cherries mixed with lovely caramel and toasty notes. Dense and concentrated, with smooth and silky tannins that persist through the finish.

Deep ruby, clear and quite beautiful. Raspberry, candy, wet stone and plum with a hidden herbal quality. Rich on the palate with a medium tannin and dry overall feel. Alcohol is noticeable but in balance. Rich fruit, raspberry, spice(black pepper) and a meatiness...Wow a lot of wine for 12 bucks! (50)+5+13+16++8=92 [92]

A deep violet color, with intense aromas of red fruits, some menthol and spicy complexity. In the palate the wine shows great structure, with firm tannins, fruity flavors with a rich complexity and delightful persistence. Wine and Food: Serve with boar, duck, goose, lamb, venison in spicy sauce, couscous, cheeses: Gouda, Gruyere
