Food Pairings for Carmen Gran Reserva Carmenere
Deep garnet at the core, the wine lightens toward the rim. Lifted aromas waft from the glass. Sweet tobacco, mashed mulberries, bay leaf and safron mingle on the nose and incorporate stir-fried mushrooms, fresh-turned earth and aloe on the palate. The mouthfeel exhibits moderate extraction with light viscosity – just enough to make this a better food than sipping wine. There’s solid, supporting acidity. The powdery tannins show enough intensity to provide a light drying sensation on the modest finish.
