Even decanted and with asado steak I watched being cooked in Mendoza, this one gets docked because I compared it to the 2003. Carmelo Patti definitely shows his love with this remarkably complex blend. Markedly complex and gratifying, it remains quite unlike any other similar blends that I've enjoyed. Winemaker: Carmelo Patti. 100% of the wine sees a mix of first use French oak. Rich, earthy aromas of black cherry, cassis, and crumpled leaves. On the palate the wine shows impressive texture, with soft berry flavors and slight bottle age character. Very complex and old world, finishes long.
