What to Expect

Cabenet Sauvignon: Originally of French origins, this versatile grape produces exceptional wines around the globe. It's usually medium to full bodied with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity.

Winemakers Notes

Winemaker: Carmelo Patti. 100% of the wine sees a mix of first use French oak. Rich, earthy aromas of black cherry, cassis, and crumpled leaves. On the palate the wine shows impressive texture, with soft berry flavors and slight bottle age character. Very complex and old world, finishes long.

Even decanted and with asado steak I watched being cooked in Mendoza, this one gets docked because I compared it to the 2003. Carmelo Patti definitely shows his love with this remarkably complex blend. Markedly complex and gratifying, it remains quite unlike any other similar blends that I've enjoyed. Have with game or otherwise [char]grilled red meat. It will certainly remain the centerpiece!

Renowned Argentine winemaker Carmelo Patti’s signature wine is this spectacular proprietary blend of his best Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. The seductive nose of red currant, strawberry jam with hints of pepper is followed by initial earthy flavors with impressive notes of ripe red currant and dark bing cherry. Aged 12 months in French oak and an additional 20 months in bottle, this wine is certainly worth the wait. Perfect with a charbroiled steak or anything on the grill.
