Carlisle Zinfandel Russian River Valley Carlisle Vineyard 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

93-95 points Robert Parker: From Mike Officer's own vineyard, the 2012 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard is a 639-case blend of 88% Zinfandel and 12% mixed blacks as well as a handful of white grapes (Muscadelle and Malvasia to name two). It came in at 15.4% alcohol, and the vineyard was planted in 1927. Yields were ridiculously low at 1.5 tons of fruit per acre, which is the glory of these old Zinfandel sites. Dense black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with spicy oak, an evolved, delicious, perfectly balanced mouthfeel, and full body, depth, richness and accessibility suggest this beauty should drink nicely for a minimum of 5-8 years. (Dec 2013)
