Carlisle Winery:
Welcome to Carlisle Winery & Vineyards! We are a small Sonoma County winery specializing in the production of old-vine, vineyard designated zinfandels and red Rhone varieties (syrah, grenache, mourvèdre, and petite sirah). While we like our wines to be bold, rich, and intensely flavored, each reflecting a sense of place, its origins in the vineyard, we also strive to create wines of balance, complexity, and perhaps most importantly, pleasure.

Deep ruby. Spicy raspberry and candied cherry scents are straightforward and almost pinot-like in their clarity and delicacy. Fresh and juicy on the palate, showing vivid red berry flavors and light tannins. Closes with excellent vivacity and cut. An... Stephen Tanzer. The 2004 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard boasts a deep ruby/purple color as well as a beautiful, sweet bouquet of sandalwood, white chocolate, crushed pepper, black raspberries, black currants, garrigue, and spicy oak. This is a seriously rich wine that displays a good underpinning of acidity, which provides a mineral-like character. It should drink well for 7-8 years. The alcohol levels in the 2004 Zinfandels range between 15.5% and 16.5%, but much to Mike Officer s credit, there is no trace of hotness in these wines. Readers should not hesitate to get on Carlisle s mailing list before the world discovers what compelling beverages are being produced here.

Saturated ruby-red. Exotic, roasted nose hints at chocolate and black walnut. Then very suave and creamy-sweet in the mouth, with superripe black raspberry flavor and substantial noble tannins. Officer describes this as our grand cru zin but I find... Stephen Tanzer. A Zinfandel wine from California in USA. 2004 Carlisle Winery Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard 750ml
