Carlisle Syrah Sonoma County 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Medium to medium-dark ruby-garnet. A compelling bouquet of cherries, red currants, lilac, and underbrush greets the nose. Succulent and supple on entry, flavors of raspberries and cherry coat the palate, persisting through the spice-laden finish. Enjoy through 2015. 43% Russian River Valley Zinfandel, Lingenfelder Vineyard; 42% Sonoma Valley Zinfandel, Rossi Ranch; 4% Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah, Teldeschi Ranch. 413 cases produced.

One of Sonoma County’s best vintages to date, this unfiltered wine is a deep purple-magenta color and has an intense array of aromas of blackberry, smoked game, black olives, and violets, characteristic of Syrah wines. Its flavors are rich and full, including mainly blackberry and violet. A clear, crisp finish on account of medium-bodied, smooth tannins.
