Showing a pleasant floral quality that is normally more associated with Malbecs from Valle de Uco. Lots of red fruit and blueberry, pleasant tannins - nice mouthfeel, good length

Winemaker's Notes:

Grape origin: Perdriel - Luján de Cuyo (55%), Cruz de Piedra - Maipú (45%). Vineyards: 83-year-old espaliers. Traditional cultivation and irrigated via flooding. Variety: Malbec, 2006 vintage Yield: less than 70 quintals per hectare. Type: red wine aged during 12 months in French oak barrels. Elaborated under the supervision of Michel Rolland’s team in Mendoza: perfectly ripe grapes harvested in 18 kg boxes, bleeding 15%, fermented at 25-27º C, prolonged maceration of 4 weeks. Quantity produced: 8.000 bottles (13.000 bottles in 2007). Alcoholic contents: 14,5 % Sugar: 1.25 g/l pH: 3.9 Total acidity: 4.38 g/l Tartaric acid Acetic acid: 0.69 g/l Free SO2: 26 mg/l Total SO2: 67 mg/l Comments: The intense colour, concentration and volume of this wine are enhanced by the perfect maturity of the grape. Its aromas are associated with plums and red fruit, typical of this variety, and a touch of vanilla and roundness contributed by the oak. It is recommended to decant it for some minutes and to consume it at 18-20° C accompanied by meats, pasta and mature cheeses.
