Captûre Wines Red Bordeaux Blend Alexander Valley Dark Rose 2009
With multi-generational experience from Château Latour, our winemaking team understands the methods behind crafting classic Bordeaux-style Rosé with intense fruit from hillside vineyards harvested at peak ripeness. After meticulous hand-sorting and de-stemming, the skins, the juice and the seeds macerate together for 12-hours to enhance the characters and perfect color of the wine. We then bleed part of the juice for a long fermentation in stainless steel barrels between 55 and 60° F to emphasize the brilliant fruit and maintain optimum acidity. The fully fermented wine is aged sur lie for 10 months, with extensive stirring during the first two months to reinforce its bright fruit expression and improve mouth-feel.

The 2012 Sauvignon Blanc Les Pionnieres is 100% Sauvignon Blanc and has been aged in stainless steel for five months. Pale gold in color, the aroma is thick and heady at first but that quickly goes away and in comes aromas of honeydew melon, apricot and lemon. On the palate it tickles the tongue a little with zesty citrus fruits of lemon, grapefruit and soft pear. The finish is smooth, luscious and tempting. This wine is just simply fantastic.
Less fruit than most roses - small estate wine. Tasting date: march 2011.

Pale yellow. Pungent, sexy aromas of lemon, nectarine, white grapefruit, crushed mint, anise and spring flowers. Supple, juicy and penetrating, with a musky complexity to the citrus zest and ripe grapefruit flavors. Conveys a tactile impression of extract without weight. Vibrant and well-delineated sauvignon with excellent balancing acidity. The brisk, persistent, palate-dusting finish shows a refreshing touch of bitterness. This is excellent.

It shows quite a bit of depth in its fruit, along with persistent layers of minerality that provide an interesting counterpoint. White peaches, almonds, flowers and mint are woven into the layered, expressive finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012andndash;2014.

Pale color. Aromas of Meyer lemon, fresh sage and minerals, with a sweaty nuance that reminded me of Loire sauvignon. Dense and ripe, but with firm minerality accentuating the piercing quality of the grapefruit and lemon zest flavors. Finishes brisk and long, still a bit youthfully tight. Classy and energetic wine.
