Capiaux Cellars Pinot Noir Widdoes Vineyard Sonoma Russian River 2015

External Review by We Speak Wine:

Notes: I've had access to Widdoes Vineyard for 22 years and it is owned by Don Widdoes and farmed by Dutton Ranch who planted Martini clones in 1980. The soil is Goldridge fine sandy loam. Located just West of the little town of Graton, it is a magical location for pinot noir. Leaning into the glass, you detect a mélange of forest floor, cherry cola and the sweet smell of brown sugar. Flavors of grilled mission fig, vanilla, smoked pear and currants. Elegant tannins are present. - Winery

Notes: "I’m very excited about the 2013 Widdoes as it shows the great quality this vineyard can deliver in a superb vintage. Medium dark red color with a brilliant purple hue appearance, this wine has beautiful dark red cherry, cranberry, plum cola, strawberry and vanilla aromas. Earthy, sarsaparilla and raspberry flavors balance out the perfect tannin/acid ratio. " - Sean Capiaux pH: 3.74 TA: 0.56 Alcohol: 14.9%
