Extremely over-rated, over-expensive wine, or perhaps I just don't think much of Zinfandel. To be fair, I am a fruity, spicy Shiraz lover and this Zinfandel was like a weak Pinot Noir mixed with a bland Cab Sav. The bottle owner indicated he had paid around AUD90 for this bottle, but I suspect it was more like AUD45-50 after looking at current values. Even so, I thought it drank like a AUD15 wine and thought it was probably worth about AUD30 on the basis that it is a rare variety and had to be brought over from Western Australia.I wouldn't drink this variety again. I will try a US bottle at some point though.
