Cape Mentelle Sem-Sauv Blanc 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Cape Mentelle, sister to Cloudy Bay, is one of the founding wineries of Margaret River. Soon after launch, the winery twice won the Jimmy Watson Trophy, Australia’s most prestigious wine award. Margaret River has limestone soils reminiscent of Bordeaux, and a climate tempered by ocean currents, resulting in expressive and well-structured wines.

Very tropical (lychee, mango) mouth of fruits. Light acids. Tasted blind, and didnt think it was a new world SB. Semillon made more sense. Good emollient mouth feel, decent finish.

A fresh and flavorful wine with the honey lemon-limey aromas of Semillon married to the grassy and gooseberry flavors of sauvignon. One of the standout wines of Western Australia's Margaret River wine region.
