Scorched earth, vanilla and blue fruit on the nose. A nice balance between the acidity and abundant fruit is immediately apparent on first tasting. Full bodied with nice, though not great depth, this offering is balanced and tasty even though it lacks complexity. Nice with pizza, lasagna and other Italian tomato influenced entrees. Good bottle. 91.

90 points - Wine Spectator"Perfumed with plums, cherries and dried flowers. Full-bodied, with silky and firm tannins and a long finish. Tight and crisp now. Still needs some time. Best after 2011."

92 Points - Wine Advocate The heat of the vintage seems to have filled out the 2003 Brunello di Montalcino very nicely. A sumptuous, beautiful wine, it offers layers of vibrant, ripe fruit intermingled with sweet toasted oak, revealing superb inner tension, poise and balance. The tannins are firm, but well-integrated. This wine shut down quickly in the glass but it was impressive both times I tasted it. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018. -Wine Advocate # 176 Apr 2008 Antonio Galloni

The single-vineyard 2003 Brunello di Montalcino La Casa is simply gorgeous. Ripe dark fruit, spices, leather and sweet toasted oak all flow from this ample, generous wine. The plumpness of the fruit is beautifully balanced by the wine's structural co... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Aromas of slightly stewed cherry and berry, with hints of coffee bean, follow through to a full body, with plenty of fruit and a velvety, soft and round finish. Pretty and moreish. Best after 2009. 8,300 cases made. -JS Wine Spectator. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2003 Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino 1500ml
