Cantine Giacomo Ascheri Gavi di Gavi 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

The Cortese grapes for this iconic wine are picked mid September. The wine is aged in steel for four months, then bottled and aged for a further two months in bottle. This wine has a delicate pale straw colour with highlights of green. The fragrant fresh nose displays notes of a floral, green fruit character with a minerally undertone. The palate mirrors the nose with its fresh and delicate approach. Dry and balanced, this wine has a good length. It makes an excellent aperitif but also pairs well with shellfish hors d’oeuvres, fish and clear soups.
