What to Expect

Garganega, from Italy's veneto regions, forms the base of the best Soaves. It is also bottled on its own. It makes a richly fruited, soft, medium bodied white wine redolent of melon, green plum, and faint citrus fruits expressed in a distinctly fruity aroma.

Winemakers Notes

The Cantina di Monteforte is situated in the eastern part of Soave Classico and Soave. They have 1200 hectares in total, part in Soave Classico and part outside of Classico. Most merchants in Verona have long held that this co-operative has some of the best vineyards in Soave Classico. The co-op has 600 members and harvests about 20,000 tonnes of grapes a year. About 80% of its production is white, 20% red. The climate here is continental, with hot summers and cold winters. Cool breezes blowing down the Alpone valley from the foothills of the Dolomites mitigate the heat of the summer. This gives warm read more...days and cool nights, which helps with the accumulation of aromatic characters in the grapes. This wine is It is light pale in colour and has a fresh, scented nose with hints of white fruit.
