Member Review by Vintage GB:

Dried cranberry flavor and woody earthiness but with sharper, more focused acidity & lower alcohol.

Overall, a solid dry rose. The fruit flavor is not overpowering. It was great with salmon.

Deep, rich purple color, a slight musty scent, pleasing to the palate w/black cherry & licorice. A good find at a bargin price

Great wine for the price! Dry, but a hint of sweet. Great for parties!

I like dry reds, but not so dry that it sucks the moisture out of my face (hello chianti), and the Cantele Primitivo is just the right balance for my tastebuds! Please, if anyone has a chianti to recommend, I would be willing to give it a go. $8.99 at Trader Joe's!!

Helles Strohgelb, anhaltendes, fruchtbetontes Bouquet. Frisch und rassig im Antrunk, ausgewogen und trocken im Geschmack.

Excellent Southern Italian Primitivo. The sweet nose bursts with freshness, plums, berries and dry earth. Itrsquo;s neither heavy nor lean, with ripe plum, watermelon and chocolate flavors. Undoubtedly superb with pasta or pizza.

An amazing bargain at $11, this is dense, rich, powerful stuff, its tannins stretching through the spicy, mineral-laden red fruit like runnerrsquo;s muscles, long and strong. Drink it now with bacon-wrapped pork loin, but make sure to stash a few bottles in the cellar, too: this should hold well for at least another five years.

The 2005 Primitivo is an engaging wine with plenty of sweet, ripe fruit perfect for drinking over the next year or two. It spent 6 months in used oak barrels. It, too, is an outstanding value. Anticipated maturity: 2008ndash;2010.

Better known for itrsquo;s rustic reds, this wineryrsquo;s 2000 Primitivo is a medium-bodied, straightforward, stainless steel-aged effort displaying sweet cherry fruit, balsam wood, soil, pepper, and herb characteristics. Meant for uncritical quaffing, it will provide pleasure over the next 2ndash;3 years.
