Canoe Ridge Reserve Horse Heaven Hills Merlot 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Enthusiast Review
Rated 91
Aged in just 33% new French oak, the fruit is front and center, with notes of fresh raspberries, medicine cabinet and dustings of spice. The flavors are luscious, fruit-filled and precise, with firm tannins and tart acids providing the frame.

Wine Tasting Notes
Smooth and approachable with delicious aromas of Bing cherry, chocolate and toffee meld into a nice round soft mouth feel. Soft nuances of vanilla from oak aging add to smooth and velvety finish.

Our estate vineyard overlooks the vast Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge, which encompasses 29,370 acres of marshes, sloughs, open water and cropland. This is a popular nesting area for Great Basin Canadian geese, several species of ducks and other marsh and water birds. Read less
