We produce wines with intense flavors by growing our grapes in a unique location with distinctive soils and microclimate. In 1989, a group of farmers started planting winegrapes on Canoe Ridge, which up to that time had been home to only badgers and sagebrush. Our estate vineyard overlooks the vast Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge, which encompasses 29,370 acres of marshes, sloughs, open water and cropland. This is a popular nesting area for Great Basin Canadian geese, several species of ducks and other marsh and water birds. Read less
