Reviews for Unknown Vintage
Deep ruby red with long viscous legs; nose is strawberry and Bing cherry jam; flavor is dark chocolate-covered cherries served with espresso. Silky smooth.
i didn't think this one rated very well on this blog, but i found it quite good. i got berry and butter aromas, with the classic zin spice. not much pepper at all. for a zin, i found it pretty smooth, without the usual bite. i think it would be good with something that requires more spice than a cabernet, but that wouldn't tolerate the pepper or tannins of a usual zin. i don't know what that would be. i don't cook, either.
truly dreadful. we reviewed it our vlog, check out the video at http://www.wineweirdos.com
Strong aroma of graham crackers and honey. Some spices and toasty notes.
Honey and grapenuts on the nose. Nice little dry zip on the finish. Would go well with a nice savory salad.
Savory nose with a rich, pointed body. Hints of raisin and wood..an extended finish that lingers..not my favorite
Cotton candy and jerky on the nose. Moderate acidity, slightly plummy, dry buttery complex finish. Overall nice and complex - really like this wine.
The nose is a little stew-y, a touch woodsy, with vegetable leaves and dry fruit. Stew-y still in the mouth; not my favorite Cali Zin.
Rich raisiny and cedar nose, with dried papaya. The mouth is syrupy and full of resin. Not really my type, but the aroma is unique and pleasant.
