User Reviews for Campolieti Valpolicella Ripasso Luigi Righetti
Add your reviewOnly had two glasses at a restaurant along with my guests. We all thought it was quite good with good flavor and body. It was over priced at $42, but we all would buy the wine at $15 retail. Not up to an Amorone but a very good substitute.

Located in Valgatara, right in the heart of Valpolicella Classico zone, the Luigi Righetti estate has been a family run winery since 1909. Gian Maria Righetti is the fourth generation in the Righetti family to carry on the wine-making tradition. For this rich Valpolicella all of the grapes are sourced from their Campolieti Estate vineyard. 60% Corvina, 30% Rondinella and 10% Molinara are fermented in stainless steel followed by malolactic fermentation inside casks containing the lees of Amarone. This process is called Ripasso and it adds depth dna flavor complexity to the wine. This lovely red shows dark cherry, raisin noted with hints of bitter hazelnut and toast.
