Campo Viejo Tempranillo Blend Rioja Crianza 2001
nice little wine from an excellent spanish vintage. nice cherry flavors.
Very musty and earthy, with notes of black cherry. Nice spiciness and a decent finish. (Tasted as part of a marathon at the Wines from Spain trade event.)
Very dry. Subtle fruit with some spice early, mid. Long oak finish. I like it...my wife, not so much.
01 best but not peak;, 04, 05 hold
Very dry and crisp long clean finish. Excellent with roast vegetable soup.

Campo Viejo Gran Reserva 2001 is a maroon cherry-red color. Aroma of jam and wood, spicy tones. This is a wine with character and persistence. Garnet cherry-red in color with aromas of stewed fruit, wood, and spicy nuances a lot of character and a long finish. Aged five years (two in oak casks, three in the bottle). An elegant wine that is a wonderful complement to beef rib roast, sauced meats, casseroles and aged cheese
