External Reviews for Campo Al Mare Bolgheri
Alluring aromas of flowers, cherry, boysenberry and mineral introduce this complex, silky red. The firm structure emerges as this persists through the long, iron-tinged aftertaste. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2014 through 2022.
The estate’s 2009 Bolgheri Campo al Mare is an attractive, fleshy wine graced with generous fruit and an inviting personality. This supple red is best enjoyed over the next year or two. Campo al Mare is 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2011–2014.
Deep ruby color with violet reflections. It shows aromas of small red woodland fruits with notes of licorice and discreet oak in the background. On the palate, the wine is full and velvety in texture, with the aromatic impressions confirmed in the flavors, finishing on a long, silky note.
