Camille Saves Champagne Brut Millésimé Grand Cru 2004
Member Review by Katrin:
The persistent bubbles bring to the nose notes of lightly buttered toast, apple, and citrus. There is something slightly lemony about this Champagne, which I detected both at the Champagne tasting and while enjoying the wine at home. Flint, stone, and minerals round out the nose. Excellent texture, lasting bubbles, and a long, pleasant finish. See additional wine reviews at: www.winedinewith.us

An exceptionally fresh and quite restrained nose that is fruity without being common as the fruit is mostly pinot with only traces of raspberry and pomegranate that introduce delicious and wonderfully vibrant flavors underpinned by just the right amount of effervescence to allow the full impact of the fruit to come through here as well, all wrapped in a moderately dry, clean and very pure finish. This is positively lovely and fashioned in an understated style with an emphasis on finesse and refinement. I should note that if your taste runs more towards very full-flavored rosés, this is probably not for you as the descriptor understated captures the essential spirit of this wine.
