Cameron Hughes Chardonnay Lot 91 Russian River 2009

Member Review by show:

Standard Chardonnay with no overt oak flavors with restrained acid. This wine does not have appealing character, but still have good quality and value at this price. If you have chance, its worth to try this.

I like a chardonnay with a little age on it. This 2006 chard is nice and ready and will hold up to a chicken cacciatore. From Carneros, this wine has nice acid balance, fruit and vanilla finishes with slight oak. Buy at Safeway for about $11 on sale from $16. Only a small amount left of the shelves. Cameron is coming out with a new series for Safeway. Stay tuned or sign up for their insider list at www.chwine.com.

A little simple, but very good for the price

This is a great chardonnay. Not quite the 'serve to impress' wine, but definitely more than a Tuesday night with pizza chardonnay. Flavors of pear, apricot and honeysuckle. Some hints of spice and maybe hazelnut. I wouldn't skip this if you come across it. CP.

Folks, this is not a great chardonnay. It is thin and lifeless. And I am not an oak freak but please, have some body and character. There are many other wines at this price point that bring more to the table. Try Bogle or Hess.
