Cambria's Pinot Noir offerings are well-made, with the tell-tale tomato/herbaceousness that seems to be a characteristic of Santa Barbara. The 1996 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard is similar in style to the 1995, with less herbaceousness, as well as less flavor intensity. Soft and round, it will provide competent drinking over the next several years.
Intense and concentrated, with a range of flavors that stretches from earth to spice, cranberry and cherry. Turns complex on the aftertaste.
The nose is brimming with luscious cherry and strawberry flavors. This medium-bodied wine has notes of cinnamon spice, rich earth, and a round midpalate.
Supple, showing tea, cherry and wild berry flavors with toasty oak nuances that linger on the lightly tannic finish. Drink now through 2003.
This is the best Pinot Noir at this price on the market. Easily. It's picture-perfect cool climate, absolutely dry and silky, with complex flavors of cherries, Mandarin orange, cola, pomegranates, licorice and cinnamon spice, made even richer by smoky oak. Just lovely, and gets even better as it breathes in the glass.
Our 2005 Julia's Pinot Noir offers dark ripe Bing cherry, raspberry and strawberry flavors that open into an underlying earthiness. A round mid-palate leads to vanilla and cinnamon spice on the silky finish
Established 20 years ago, Cambria has emerged as one of the top producers of Pinot Noir from southern California. The Cambria wines are invariably delicious, true to the varietal and moderately priced. The Julia vineyard is the oldest site owned by Cambria. Bouquet of dark cherries and freshly picked strawberries. The palate displays lively, engaging Pinot berry fruit accented by cinnamon and vanilla. A perfect Thanksgiving red!
