Cambria Chardonnay Bench Break Premier 2006
Santa Barbara County is a quiet sanctuary of golden hills and well-groomed vineyards located three hours north of the glitter and bustle of Los Angeles. This is the place we call home. For more than 20 years, we have produced estate grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah from our benchland vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley AVA of Santa Barbara County. Welcome to Cambria.

Graceful oak balanced with sturdy acidity. Interesting exotic taste profile strong on Chinese herbs: Angelica root(most people would probably call it grapefruit, but it is not accurate),Cinnabar Root, mandarin orange peel. The pineapple is of the natal queen varietal, as opposed to the more common Cayenne. Hints of Mediterranean apricots. Buttery finish. A very unctuous Chard with a sliky mouth feel.

"A ripe citrus nose, almost floral in nature-pineapple and stone fruit flavors marry with just a hint of apple pie spice. The finish is crisp and lingering with creamy vanilla notes."-Denise Shurtleff, Winemaker
This is a big, fat, unctuous Chardonnay marked by exceptional ripeness and smoky oak. Yet it never loses sight of balance. Itrsquo;s powerful in candied or pie-filling pineapple jam, Mandarin orange zest, apricot brucirc;leacute;e and vanilla custard flavors that are completely dry and accented with crisp acidity. This is an amazing price for a wine of this quality. Sommeliers, buy this beauty by the case.
Green-tinged yellow. Poached pear, apple and melon aromas are given depth by smoky lees. Pleasantly bitter flavors of ripe orchard fruits and toasted grain pick up a sweet note with air. A plump, inviting style of chardonnay that finishes with lingering spiciness.
Wine Tasting NotesA tribute to Cambria's consistent style and character, Katherine's Chardonnay is a lush, well-rounded wine revealing vibrant tropical flavors folded over hints of vanilla and pear. The finish is enduring, made memorable by notes of vanilla and oak spice.
