Calling All Angels Chardonnay 2010
Chardonnay 2010 Calling All Angels, California, Save Me San Francisco Wine Co. Created by the rock band Train, Save Me San Francisco Wine Company donates proceeds from the sale of their wines to Family House, which provides housing for families whose children are undergoing treatment at the UCSF Children's Hospital. The wine is appealingly lush and forward with ripe tropical fruit flavors and just a hint of toasty oak. Guitarist Jimmy Stafford drinks it after every show.
Lots of oak and vanilla in the nose, more on the body. Too much for me.
Pineapple is that weird fruit you cannot describe when you drink this. It is so odd and unexpected, but you keep drinking more. Lasted in fridge for 3 days, amazing staying power. A little fake given the pineapple intensity. Light melon. For the price, would try to impress others with it in a name-that-flavor competition.
