Callejo 4 Meses Ribera del Duero D.O 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Bodegas Felix Callejo is a family winery in the truest sense, with the whole family involved in a range of different roles. The lime-rich soil of the south facing slopes in Sotillo de la Ribera, in tandem with the typically mild climate, create an ideal environment for producing elegant wines with notes of defined fruit and sparkling acidity. Callejo have a secret weapon in developing harmony in their wines: their barrel cellar has Gregorian chants piped in to help the wines relax into sublimity. This Tempranillo had a dark ruby hue and an enticing nose that encompasses lavender, spice and black cherry and mineral. This dry red wine has been awarded 89 points by Wine Advocate, which describes it as 'sweetly-fruited, smooth-textured, and savory, this nicely balanced, layered effort will deliver pleasure over the next 6 years.' This Tempranillo is ideally suited to vegetables, fresh pasta and soups.
