Fairly simple cab, not a lot going on but not bad for a mid-week quaff at a good price.
Personally, I find this wine deeper in flavors with a medium tannin structure, ripe fruit with a medium finish. However, I do believe that a little more time in the bottle will round out the wine. For the price; Good Value

Produced in their gravity-flow winery, this Cabernet shows complexity and style. Montes owns high-altitude vineyards in Chile's Colchagua Valley, that benefit from the cool temperatures and the brilliant sunlight. 15% Merlot is blended in and the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 6 months. The Wine Advocate scored this super-value Cab 90 points saying "The 2011 Montes Classic Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with 15% Merlot and offers a simple black currant, vanilla and violet bouquet that is joyful and well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannin, crisp raspberry and dark cherry fruit, zesty acidity and lovely focus on the finish. At this price, it would be hard to find a better Cabernet. Drink now-2016."
Ridge Vineyards is an historic winery located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Known for their Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet which placed 5th in the famous Judgment in Paris tasting, this is a historic vineyard, first planted in the late 1800's. Revived and revitalized in the early 1960's, proprietor and Winemaker Paul Draper focuses on expressing the terroir of this extraordinary mountain vineyard with yields less than 2 tons per acre. This Estate Cab is sourced entirely form the Monte Bello Vineyard. Lots are carefully selected that show a more forward, approachable style. The final blend is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc aged 21 months in 100% American oak barrels. Antonio Galloni scored it 92 points saying "Ridge's 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is quite laid back in this vintage. Sweet floral notes meld into red stone fruits, pomegranate and cinnamon. In keeping with the style of the year, the 2011 is medium in body, feminine and gracious. Best of all, it will drink well pretty much right out of the gate."

This is fresh though with plenty of the classic exoticism that almost always marks the nose of a fine Mont de Milieu. There is a beguiling succulence to the round but powerful and well-concentrated medium-bodied flavors that exude a distinct saline c... Burghound A Chardonnay wine from Burgundy in France. 2011 2011 Billaud Domaine Samuel Chablis Mont De Milieu Chardonnay 750ml
A good value in a classic, not-too-heavy Cabernet that appeals to pretty much everyone. Bright red currant and black cherry notes dominate, with fresh mouthfeel and smooth tannins.
