Extremely plummy with additional notes of spiced pumpkin pie and smoked meat on the nose. On the palate, plum and chocolate predominate. Firm tannins. Goes well with blue cheese.
This was a Vintage 2007. I bought it as part of belonging to a wine cub. It was a smooth wine, not as full bodied as some of the Zins I've tasted. It could be due to the fact that I didn't allow the wine to breathe properly.
Opened the 2005 Zin last night. The cork was troublingly dry. The contents was horrid. I don't like panning wines as I think they all have their place, but I was shocked and disappointed and am paying the price today. Sad to say this offering belongs in the "Easter egg dye" category. What were they thinking?
