Amazing bottle. Brown color - needs some time, about 30 minutes, to open up. Gorgeous burgundian style here. Ver old world in nature. You can taste the Mt Harlan limestone. I would love to find a magnum of this if it existed... I had the half bottle and was very happy.

This vineyard bottling is very vintage driven. The cool 2009 harvest has made it ripe and tart in cherry pie flavors, but also rather tannic. It's aloof, revealing little of its soul, beyond the primary fruit and oak. Needs time in the cellar. Could ... Wine Enthusiast. Vivid red. Pungent aromas of candied red berries, incense and botanical herbs, with a suave floral note gaining strength with air. Juicy and precise, with seamless texture and very good depth to its spicy red and dark berry flavors. Finishes sappy and long, with echoing notes of red berries and flowers.

The 2008 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard bursts onto the palate with a rush of intensely perfumed fruit. It shows fabulous balance of fruit, structure and acidity as it covers the palate with dazzling purity and breathtaking sense of balance. A soft, caressing finish rounds things out in style. This is a super-refined showing from Josh Jensen. Anticipated maturity: 2013andndash;2023.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard is the biggest and richest of the 2009s. It boasts stunning depth in its dark fruit, licorice, spices and sweet balsamic notes. Layers of fruit totally saturate the palate as this utterly majestic Pinot opens up in the glass. The sheer depth and nuance of the Jensen is simply breathtaking. Readers will have to be patient, as the Jensen is very much built for the cellar. It is an American classic to savor and enjoy to age 20 and perhaps beyond. Anticipated maturity: 2014andndash;2029.

Winemaker's Notes:

Enticing aromas of rose petals, gardenia, bright cherry and sandalwood waft from this 2009 Mills Pinot Noir with its stunning ruby and garnet hue. Racy flavors of cassis, chocolate, rhubarb and cranberry add a cheerful lift to the zesty, deep, dark black plum, cigar and leather accents. Broad fruit strokes with mineral underpinnings linger delightfully. Vineyard planted in 1984. Crop yield of just 1.55 tons/acre. 1,599 cases produced. Not yet reviewed; 2008 vintage rated 93 points by Wine Advocate.
