This Rueda for me was very nice. The nose has wonderful floral notes and light fruit aromas (indistinguishable) The flavor basically follows suit i definitely got apricot on the tongue and well as a beautiful crisp acidity to the wine. For a nicely inexpensive wine with such lightness and crispness this would pair well with milder grassy cheeses salads, fish, chicken and i could even say pork depending on how it was prepared.
External Reviews for Calera Pinot Noir Mount Harlan Mount Harlan Cuvée
In its youth, this tastes rich and candied, like a cherry, vanilla and buttercream pastry. Itandrsquo;s delicious, savory and fun, a very easy wine to drink with a great steak or chop. With its delicate texture, it should probably last quite a few years, without necessarily gaining in complexity.
Hereandrsquo;s a good, dry and fairly complex Pinot Noir from the same estate as Caleraandrsquo;s better and more expensive block bottings. Itandrsquo;s light bodied and spicy, with earthy notes of tobacco, herbs, cherries and sandalwood. Drink now, after a good decanting.
The 2008 Pinot Noir de Villiers Vineyard flows from the glass with layers of dark cherries, menthol, licorice and tobacco. It is a wonderfully fleshy, expressive Pinot to drink now and over the next decade. Despite the richness of the fruit, there is more than enough structure for this to drink well for quite some time. Anticipated maturity: 2012andndash;2020.
The 2008 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard bursts onto the palate with a rush of intensely perfumed fruit. It shows fabulous balance of fruit, structure and acidity as it covers the palate with dazzling purity and breathtaking sense of balance. A soft, caressing finish rounds things out in style. This is a super-refined showing from Josh Jensen. Anticipated maturity: 2013andndash;2023.
The 2009 Pinot Noir Jensen Vineyard is the biggest and richest of the 2009s. It boasts stunning depth in its dark fruit, licorice, spices and sweet balsamic notes. Layers of fruit totally saturate the palate as this utterly majestic Pinot opens up in the glass. The sheer depth and nuance of the Jensen is simply breathtaking. Readers will have to be patient, as the Jensen is very much built for the cellar. It is an American classic to savor and enjoy to age 20 and perhaps beyond. Anticipated maturity: 2014andndash;2029.
Vivid red. Pungent aromas of candied red berries, incense and botanical herbs, with a suave floral note gaining strength with air. Juicy and precise, with seamless texture and very good depth to its spicy red and dark berry flavors. Finishes sappy and long, with echoing notes of red berries and flowers.

93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): The 2008 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard takes shape beautifully in the glass, with layers of bright red fruits, flowers, spices and tobacco. It is an impeccable, polished wine from start to finish. This is one of the wines that shows more stem character than some of the others. A textured, multi-dimensional finish of considerable elegance sets the Mills Vineyard apart. Here, too, there is a slightly fleeting quality, but there seems to be enough fruit for the wine to drink well for another handful of years, perhaps longer. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020.
