- ($80; a 40/40/20 blend of syrah, cabernet sauvignon and merlot) Full, deep ruby-red. Expressive aromas of plum, currant, smoke, licorice, chocolate and game. Concentrated, thick and penetrating, with black fruit and licorice flavors complicated by game. A very solid, chewy wine that nonetheless comes across as seamless. This blend works for me! Finishes with sweet, firm tannins that spread out to coat the palate. Late notes of mocha and nutty oak.
